Residents groan over bad roads in Ogba.

Heavy Rain Disrupts knockout round of NIJ Provost Cup

The knockout round of matches for the Nigerian Institute of Journalism’s 2023 Provost Cup has been disrupted by the continuous heavy downpour of rainfall experienced throughout Lagos. The knockout round which was initially scheduled to be played between the 6th of June to the 22nd of June has seen the rounds of matches constantly postponed due to the heavy rainfall, which as a result has left the pitch in a bad state. The Sports Director of the Institution, Mr Avonda Richard described the situation as one that has affected the timetable of the tournament and little or nothing could be done to salvage it. He concluded that plans are also underway to ensure the tournament continues within the timeframe as initially planned and scheduled.
